Thank you for choosing Columbus products and the long term support.
About the GPS Week Number Rollover (WNRO), GPS uses a week counter that enables receivers to calculate the appropriate date. That week counter uses 10 bits and needs to be reset every 1,024 weeks—roughly every 20 years. On April 6, 2019—the GPS week counter will reset to zero.
At this time, the device has a date and time error: the track date is displayed as Year1999. In addition, the positioning accuracy of the device is not affected.
Please note:
1. The Columbus product currently in the market (using the MTK3339 chip) is unaffected, i.e. devices with the correct date are not required to update the firmware.
2. The products involved in this issue are limited to models sold during the period 2010-2015 and using the MTK3329 chip.
You can solve the problem simply by updating the firmware by yourself.
